CODHA Board of Directors Comes Together for February Strategic Planning

CODHA Board of Directors Comes Together for February Strategic Planning

The Colorado Dental Hygienists’ Association (CODHA) Board of Directors recently came together for our February Strategic Planning and General Business Meeting — a focused and energizing session dedicated to shaping the year ahead.

Throughout the meeting, Board members engaged in thoughtful discussion around legislative advocacy, regulatory priorities, member growth, financial sustainability, and long-term vision for the profession. With so much happening across Colorado, from rulemaking to workforce initiatives, this strategic planning time ensures CODHA remains proactive, prepared, and aligned.

In addition to forward-looking strategy, we conducted official association business to keep CODHA strong, transparent, and responsive to our members.

Your volunteer Board leaders continue to work behind the scenes to protect, promote, and advance dental hygiene in Colorado, and we’re excited about what’s ahead.

CODHA Actively Engaged in Dental Board Rules Committee Stakeholder Meeting

Feb. 19, 2026

CODHA Actively Engaged in Dental Board Rules Committee Stakeholder Meeting

The Colorado Dental Hygienists’ Association (CODHA) was proud to participate in the most recent Colorado Dental Board Rules Committee Stakeholder Meeting as part of the ongoing rulemaking process following the successful passage of our 2025 Dental Sunset bill, SB25-194.

CODHA was strongly represented by Alyssa Aberle, RDH, CODHA Regulation and Practice Chair, who spoke frequently and with conviction throughout the meeting. Her testimony reflected CODHA’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that the intent of SB25-194 is accurately and fairly implemented in rule.

In addition to verbal testimony, CODHA submitted extensive written comments addressing over 17 Dental Board rules currently under review. Our feedback focused on protecting public safety, maintaining clarity in scope of practice, and supporting the long-standing authority of Colorado dental hygienists; including our 40-year history of independent practice ownership.

We remain committed to transparent, thoughtful rulemaking that reflects statute, supports small business dental practices, and preserves access to safe, high-quality oral health care across Colorado.

Thank you to our members and partners who continue to support this important work.

CODHA Testifies in Support of HB26-1070 Alongside CDA

CODHA Testifies in Support of HB26-1070 Alongside CDA

Today, the Colorado Dental Hygienists’ Association (CODHA) proudly testified in support of HB26-1070, standing in partnership with the Colorado Dental Association to protect Colorado dental providers and the patients they serve.

HB26-1070 strengthens fairness in third-party network agreements and supports the sustainability of locally owned dental practices. Colorado dental hygienists have been authorized to own and operate independent practices since 1986, and like dentists, they are small business owners who create jobs and expand access to care in communities across our state.

CODHA supports this legislation 100% because strong, sustainable dental practices mean healthier patients and stronger Colorado communities.

CODHA Capitol Day 2026

Feb. 11, 2026

CODHA proudly hosted Capitol Day 2026 at the Colorado State Capitol on February 11th, where dental hygienists from across the state engaged directly in the legislative process that shapes our profession.

Attendees participated in advocacy orientation and met with state legislators to discuss issues impacting scope of practice, public health programs, workforce sustainability, and access to oral healthcare in Colorado. These conversations ensure that the voice of dental hygienists is present when policy decisions are made.

Capitol Day is one of the many ways CODHA actively represents and protects dental hygienists year-round.

We are grateful to the hygienists who showed up, spoke up, and demonstrated the leadership Colorado is known for.

Advocacy does not happen by accident; it happens because dental hygienists choose to participate.

If you believe in strong representation, thoughtful policy, and a sustainable future for dental hygiene in Colorado, we invite you to join CODHA and stand with us.

2027 - we'll fill the State Capitol stairs top to bottom!
