Boulder Implants Periodontics PT Boulder, CO

Dental Hygienist – Perioscopy Specialist
About Us:
Boulder Implants & Periodontics is a single doctor owned and operated periodontal practice committed to providing advanced and comprehensive oral care. We are dedicated to staying at the forefront of dental technology to ensure our patients receive the highest quality treatment. Our team is passionate about promoting oral health and creating positive patient experiences.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Dental Hygienist with expertise in Perioscopy to join our dynamic team on Fridays. The ideal candidate will play a key role in advancing our commitment to cutting-edge dental care by performing thorough debridement of deep root surfaces using Perioscopy technology.
About Perioscopy:
Perioscopy is an exciting and innovative technology that can greatly enhance the capabilities of dental hygienists, clinicians, and the overall patient experience. Here are some key points to highlight:
Precision and Accuracy:
Perioscopy allows dental hygienists to visually examine and debride deep root surfaces with unparalleled precision. The magnification and illumination provided by Perioscopy enable clinicians to identify and address issues that may not be visible to the naked eye or tactile discernment.
By using this advanced technology, hygienists can more accurately target and remove deposits and calculus, ensuring thorough cleaning of the root surfaces. This precision contributes to improved treatment outcomes and better overall oral health.
Minimally Invasive:
One of the significant benefits of Perioscopy is its minimally invasive nature. Compared to traditional periodontal procedures, Perioscopy requires less tissue manipulation and reduces the need for more invasive interventions.
Hygienists can perform detailed debridement without causing trauma to the surrounding tissues. This leads to faster healing times and increased comfort for the patients during and after the procedure.
Patient Education and Engagement:
With the visual capabilities of Perioscopy, hygienists can engage patients in their oral health by sharing real-time images of their teeth and gums. This visual aid helps patients better understand their treatment needs and encourages active participation in their oral care.
Patients appreciate the transparency and proactive approach that Perioscopy enables, fostering a sense of trust and confidence in the hygienist’s abilities.
Enhanced Diagnostic Capabilities:
Perioscopy enables clinicians to detect and address calculus in tiny pits and fissures of the root anatomy, cemental tears, root fractures, cementosis, enamel projections, accessory canals, foreign body impaction, etc. Intervention arrests the progression of periodontal disease, leading to better long-term outcomes for patients.
The detailed visual information obtained through perioscopy aids in accurate diagnosis, and treatment outcomes that were previously unattainable by non-surgical methods.
Professional Development:
Hygienists who embrace Perioscopy demonstrate a commitment to staying at the forefront of dental technology. This not only enhances their professional skill set but also positions them as leaders in the field.
Continued education and training in Perioscopy contribute to the hygienist’s career growth and may open up opportunities for advancement within the dental practice.
In summary, Perioscopy is an exciting technology that empowers dental hygienists to provide more precise, minimally invasive, and patient-centric care. Patients benefit from improved oral health outcomes, increased engagement in their care, and a more comfortable treatment experience. Hygienists using Perioscopy position themselves as leaders in the dental field, contributing to the overall success and reputation of the practice.
Position Overview (continued):
Responsibilities:
Perform Perioscopy procedures to provide detailed visual examination and debridement of deep root surfaces.
Perform detailed data collection of pockets, bleeding, suppuration, recession, mucogingival defects, furcation involvement, mobility, decay, etc.
Perform periodontic periodontal maintenance treatment.
Perform scaling and root planing.
Collaborate with the dental team and our referrals to foster effective communication and to help develop personalized treatment plans.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
