Dear Colorado Hygienists,

My name is Sally Maren. I am a senior dental hygiene student at the University of Oklahoma College
of Dentistry Dental Hygiene Program. The aim of this study is to determine if the use of marijuana
results in any oral manifestations. Specifically, the purpose of this study is to primarily focus on
dental patients who smoke marijuana and to determine if there are any oral manifestations as a
consequence. Practicing, licensed dental hygienists in Colorado will be surveyed to determine if they
have detected any unique oral manifestations associated with marijuana use in their patients and
how hygienists interact with those patients.
